Genshin Impact has certainly taken over the gaming community by storm this year. Not only is it playable on the PlayStation 4, but it's free to play (with in-game items purchases) on mobile devices and has set a new standard in mobile gaming. But to ByteDance CEO, Zhang Yiming is wondering if his employees are too obsessed with it.
This was seen on a screenshot online and was shared by a ByteDance employee. We can't seem to find it anymore so we assume it was taken down already but it was mainly about Zhang criticising in the group chat that most of his employees were "talking excessively about [Genshin Impact] during work hours". Zhang actually joined the group chat to try out Genshin Impact alongside his active employees.
Another thing that bothered Zhang was the number of chats by his employees. According to his experience, there were hundreds of messages at one day and he wondered if they have been chatting all night, and seems to continue during working hours. Overall, he was really surprised by this active gaming community for several days and wondered if this is common (lol).
In case you missed it, Genshin Impact won the Best Mobile Game of 2020 in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Now that's an achievement that should be respected, but I understand the annoyance of having hundreds of message spams in the group chat and so should you.
