Did Lenovo just reveal an AMD Ryzen 9 Mobile CPU?

At CES 2020 last month, one of the exciting bits of news was AMD announcing the Ryzen 4000 Mobile series processors. Back then, few thought that AMD would more than the standard Ryzen 3, 5 and 7 mobile CPUs. But in a recent leak, there's allegedly an upcoming Lenovo laptop that may house a Ryzen 9 CPU.

According to Wccftech, Lenovo's Germany website had a product page for the Yoga Slim 7 laptop listing its CPU as 'Up to AMD Ryzen 9'. This Ryzen 9 CPU is believed to be the Ryzen 9 4900U CPU, which is a lower TDP variant typically meant for ultraslim laptops like Lenovo's Yoga series. In terms of specs, we know the Ryzen 7 4800 mobile CPU is already an 8-core 16-thread part running at a max boost clock of 4.2GHz and outperforms an Intel i7-9700K.

Note that this is currently pure speculation as AMD has not made any announcements of a Ryzen 9 4000 series mobile CPU yet. It's expected to have at least the same number of CPU cores and threads, but there's no news on what clock speeds or TDP it would run on. However, if this CPU exists then AMD could really shake up the mobile PC space.

How well do you think an AMD Ryzen 9 4000 Mobile series CPU would perform? Would it run too hot or be relatively expensive? Let us know what you think on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more tech news.
