Near the end of 2022, sources suggested that the Dimensity 8000 series chipsets would launch this year. There's also a benchmark of the Dimensity 8000, which can allegedly compete with the Dimensity 8000. Interestingly, the source now claims that there could also be a Dimensity 8100 chipset.
According to Digital Chat Station, there's a Dimensity 8100 chipset that's designed on TSMC's 5nm process node. This chipset will come with 4x Cortex-A78 CPU cores (2.85GHz), 4x Cortex-A55 CPU cores (2.0GHz), and the Mali G610 MC6 GPU. It will also support LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, which is what you normally find in flagship mobile devices.
The tipster also claimed that the chipset managed an average of 170fps on the GFXBench ES 3.0 Manhattan benchmark. If these scores are accurate, it means the Dimensity 8100's GPU is on par with the Snapdragon 888 chipset's Adreno 660 GPU. Allegedly, Xiaomi will be equipping one of its Redmi devices with this chipset next month, so we might get some news during this coming week's MWC 2022.
