These days, every platform wants to add a shopping feature. Instagram added a Shop tab last year before WhatsApp started allowing people to sell things directly through its app. Both Facebook isn't the only corporation that wants to sell you stuff, Google wants to do it too with YouTube.

According to Engadget, Google is working on a way to let users buy stuff directly from YouTube videos. Some channels have allegedly been allowed to join a pilot program, where they can sell products through their videos. Allegedly, a shopping bag icon would be visible on the bottom left of videos for these users. Clicking on the icon will open a list of products being sold.

The feature is an interesting one because brands can use to sell their products through it. For example, Samsung could make the new Galaxy S21 series purchasable via its videos. The icon can be seen on both apps for Android and iOS, as well as on web browsers, so it will be highly accessible. However, only creators based in the US currently have access to the feature.
