So just a few hours ago, HONOR Malaysia posted a new DxOMark Mobile Score with 111 marks on their Facebook page. Claiming to be the #2 spot among the smartphones, they are quite excited to bring in this "mystery" phone into the Malaysia market. Well, it wasn't that mysterious after we did our own research, as it turns out to be the HONOR 20 Pro.
It certainly took them long enough to announce the flagship, but they can't be blamed because of the Google service issue which halted their launch for the HONOR 20 back at the end of May 2019. Anyway, for a smartphone that is just behind the Huawei P30 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, it must mean that the camera performance is excellent and furthermore, HONOR Malaysia even put the hashtag #LowLightChampion.
The quad rear camera configuration isn't that far off from the HONOR 20, it features a 48MP (Sony IMX 586) + 16MP (Super Wide-Angle lens) + 8MP (Depth Assist sensor) + 2MP (Macro lens) with an aperture of F/1.4 on the primary sensor, which probably explains the #LowLightChampion. On top of that, the Pro variant has a 4-Axis Optical Image Stabilizer on the primary and telephoto lens which is nice, along with a hidden Laser Autofocus sensor.
We were quite satisfied with the HONOR 20 performance as a camera-centric smartphone so we can't wait to take the HONOR 20 Pro variant out for a spin. The starting price for this is €599 (~RM2767) but our local set is probably lower than that. How much do you think it will cost? let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more HONOR news at TechNave.com.
