Just earlier this month, Opensignal named U Mobile as one of the most improved global networks in the Mobile Network Experience Global Awards (which most of you still can't believe, lol). With that, we wondered if the orange telco has shifted their position or not if compared with the other local telcos. Well, wonder no more - we now have the Malaysia Mobile Network Experience Report by Opensignal as of September 2020.

According to Opensignal, Maxis is still the leading telco in terms of Video Experience, Mobile Game Experience, and Download Speed Experience. Celcom still has the best 4G Availability and 4G Coverage Experience, whereas U Mobile takes the best Upload Speed Experience. Both U Mobile and Unifi are joint winners in terms of Voice App Experience.

In addition, Opensignal noted that even though Maxis is ranked first in Video Experience, their points have dropped considerably and the rest aren't that far behind with both Celcom and Digi on 2 points behind. Furthermore, U Mobile has the biggest jump compared with the last report, from 42.9 to 50.1. That said, we have to also take into account that our local telcos did put a download speed limit during MCO in order for everyone to surf online and prevent bad network traffic.
