Huawei Mate X2 with improved specs and design to launch in February 2021

The Huawei Mate X2 has been in the rumours since early last year. But even after being certified by China's 3C in November 2020, there were no signs of an upcoming launch until recently. Now, there is reason to believe that the device could indeed be unveiled in February.

To elaborate, a Chinese blogger has claimed that Huawei's next foldable device is "coming soon". He also mentioned how it would sport a design that's different from Samsung's. This is probably a reference to the Galaxy Z Fold 2, which folds inwards like a book. As you can see from the image render below, the Mate X2 will fold outwards like the Mate Xs.

On that topic, the Mate X2's should have a 120Hz OLED screen that measures around 8-inches when unfolded, as well as a secondary 6.45-inch screen. Aside from that, it's expected to be powered by the 5nm Kirin 9000 chipset. It could also come with a 64MP main camera, 4400mAh battery, and more.

In our opinion, a February 2021 release in China does seem possible. Huawei would likely follow up with the global launch at MWC 2021. But with that said, what else would you like to see from Huawei's next foldable? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned to TechNave for further updates about it.
