Instagram allegedly testing audio rooms and chat encryption

When an idea is popular, everyone wants to copy it. For social media platforms, that happened with the Stories format and it's happening again. Specifically, we're talking about audio rooms as Instagram has become the next platform to copy it.

Previously, it was revealed that Facebook was working on a feature similar to audio rooms from Clubhouse called Fireside. But Allessandro Paluzzi has found that Instagram is also developing audio rooms. These audio rooms let multiple users come together to chat, or broadcast to the general public. This means you'd be able to do audio podcasts.

Since Instagram is a company under Facebook, this could be the Fireside feature that was mentioned before. Of course, it's also possible that the feature will be present in both Facebook and Instagram apps. Besides that, Instagram is also working on end-to-end encryption for chats. However, this is probably not related to the audio rooms feature.

Currently, there's isn't much info about Instagram's rumoured audio room. But since the feature is popular, we're quite positive the rumour is legit. Having said that, what do you think of this whole concept? Let us know in the comments below! Also, stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
