NewsBytes #31 - Star Wars VR coming to Genting, TikTok's Got Talent, Maxis and Celcom's CSR initiative and a lucky Proton X70 winner from Lelong

cover.jpg

What's up TechNavers? We are already coming to the end of November and once again, there isn't much news around except for a couple of smartphone releases and promotions. In anticipation of Christmas, vivo Malaysia has dropped the price tag on the Vivo V11i and the Y81i starting from RM499, the Realme C1 was on a special sale for just RM399, the  HONOR Play – Player Edition Red x Audi Sports LMS lucky draw has begun on HONOR Malaysia's #Fansgiving Campaign, and the quad-cam Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) got a rather quiet release for RM1999 (which is a pretty good deal if you ask me).

That said, OPPO Malaysia was the only smartphone brand to do something this week which was the release of the much-teased R17 Pro. As beautiful as it looks, the triple-cam device (well, sort of) is actually priced at RM2699 which we didn't expect at all. To be honest, the price is a kind of out there for a mid-range device but I guess we have to consider its new processor (QUALCOMM SNAPDRAGON 710 BABY), as well as its 8GB + 128GB memory, the 6.4-inch AMOLED display, a switchable aperture, a 50W SuperVOOC Charging technology and more.

Moreover, the emerald model is also the same price but then again, there are other affordable flagships around that price range as well like OnePlus and Xiaomi. Just sayin'. Anyway, without further ado... here are this week's NewsBytes!
