By now, most OnePlus and OPPO fans have already taken note of the merging between the two tech brands. Each company is still working independently, but some of us wondered if the operating system could appear on each other's device. Well, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has the answer.

Mysmartprice.com actually reached out to OnePlus regarding if whether OxygenOS, OnePlus' operating system will continue or not with the partnership with OPPO. Lau didn't wait long to answer that which is a "yes" so nothing's changed, except that OnePlus will have better resource access now which is good for the fans and users.

While it may sound like a silly question, but perhaps the reason why some media was thinking about that question is because of the OnePlus phone variants sold in China. Just in case you didn't know, the company announced that its OnePlus 9 series lineup in China will use OPPO's ColorOS out of the box. In addition, they have been releasing Android phones with HydrogenOS which is a different kind of OxygenOS without Google Mobile Services.

With that in mind, global users like Malaysian OnePlus fans can rest assured that OxygenOS is here to stay. OnePlus' development team will also remain the same and there's that. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
