The first-ever OnePlus foldable smartphone has been in rumour mills for a while and now, the tech firm has finally confirmed its existence… well sort of. Taking to its official Twitter (or X) account, OnePlus also teased its name, ‘OnePlus Open’.

Of course, the name and some of the device’s alleged specs have already been leaked online. Naming the foldable ‘Open’ is also quite apt, differentiating it from other foldable smartphone names in the market.

In fact, the Tweet by OnePlus made a witty remark while teasing the name, saying that the company ‘Open’ when others Fold. Of course, foldable smartphones in the market are synonymous with the name Fold, thanks to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series, which released its 5th generation today.

Hence, as a newcomer to the foldable category, OnePlus has a lot of catching up to do to compete with the likes of Samsung.

Besides that, nothing much is confirmed about the OnePlus Open, besides a rumoured global release date of 29 August. Well, for the latest development on this and more trending tech news, stay tuned to TechNave!
