Since POCO parted ways with Xiaomi in January this year, the company has been focused mostly on releasing products in India. The POCO X2 never made its way here, but the POCO F2 Pro was launched in Malaysia last month and now the POCO M2 Pro is just around the corner.

Yesterday, POCO confirmed that its next smartphone will make its debut on 7 July 2020. The date was revealed in a Twitter post that also had the hashtag "FeelTheSurge". This is either referring to a fairly large battery or fast-charging speed. Based on the device's store page on Flipkart, we believe that it's the fast-charging that will be a highlight for the device.

Besides the launch date, a Geekbench record for the POCO M2 Pro was found yesterday. It shows that the device uses a Qualcomm chipset, which could be the Snapdragon 765, along with 6GB of RAM. We're also expecting this device to have at least 128GB of internal storage, a 6.53-inch screen, and a quad-camera at the back.

We don't know if POCO will launch this device in Malaysia if it's a rebranded device as rumoured, but they might surprise us and provide some interesting changes.
