This year's April Fool's Day is probably the most sombre one (yet) thanks to the COVID-19 outbreak and the extended Movement Control Order. Not to forget, the amount of fake news flying around online is also making us more cautious so much to the point that we can be fined or go to jail for doing that. Although a few companies have come up with some jokes (like OPPO's FreeVOOC air charging tech lol), the PUGB development team did the extra mile of introducing a Fantasy Battle Royale mode.
Not to be confused with PUGB Mobile which is a lot more popular in Malaysia, the Fantasy Battle Royale is an optional limited-time event until 7 April 2020. In that mode, players will get to choose four classic classes which are the Barbarian, Wizard, Ranger and Paladin. There can only be 20 teams in total (4 per team as usual), so no solo or 3-man squad there and also, the mode only offers battle points (not XP points).
Since it's still a PUGB game, that means the last team standing in the mode will be the winner. It's also noted that Fantasy Battle Royale has its own set of items and allows players to craft them up. Ironically, a motorcycle with a unicorn head and a colourful UAZ vehicle are also available in the mode.
If you're a PUBG PC player, you can give this mode a try and it looks ridiculously fun. For more information, you can check them out at their website here. Stay tuned for more gaming news at TechNave.com.
