Many can’t deny that the Xiaomi Redmi line of smartphones represents the best value for money today for those who are looking for performance in an affordable package. The current Redmi 3 range of family ranges from a very affordable Redmi 3, to the latest Redmi 3S, that now comes with a fingerprint scanner. Now we have news that says the next Redmi model may use the Mediatek Helio X20 chip instead of Qualcomm silicon.

What makes this processor leap over the others is that it is a 10-core processor. Yes, ten. For a device that is slated to have a retail price of under USD 100, that is amazing. We may see the design of the Redmi 3S (metal body, fingerprint scanner) brought forward to the upcoming model as well.

Other possible features includes a 5 inch screen and up to 32GB of internal storage. We may only see the new model next year, but to have a 10-core smartphone at that price point is nothing short of astonishing. Stay tuned to TechNave for more news of the new Redmi model.
