The notch-free life may be within our reach, perhaps by next year. The Samsung Galaxy S10 series is the almost perfect device and now, rumours about the next gen smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S11, has emerged. The device may just be released with an under-display selfie camera.

Going by the codename Picasso, the device may be released in Q1 of 2020. It has been reported that Korean company is currently developing a “true full-screen” smartphone where the selfie camera is placed underneath the display, giving a full infinite screen experience. If this is true, we may be seeing the last of pop up cameras and punch hole displays on Samsung’s devices (at least their flagship devices). From what we've heard, Samsung may be working on making the current Infinity-O cutouts and selfie sensors smaller - the same size as the device’s status bar. In addition, Samsung is working on a 5nm chip, with sources claiming that it would be one of S11’s selling points.

Besides that, Samsung has just unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S10+ Olympic Games Edition and we aren’t surprised as the company has been sponsoring the Olympic games since 1998 and will continue to do son until 2028. For every Olympic games, a special edition of their flagship device is unveiled.

This Samsung Galaxy S10+ is the choice for this year’s Olympic Games. The Prism White variant of the device will have its rear emblazoned with the Tokyo 2020 games logo on the back along with the carrier Docomo’s logo. Bundled with the device are the Galaxy Buds with the logos printed onto the casing. Only 10000 units of the Galaxy S10+ Olympic Games Edition will be shipped out starting July this year with the price of USD$1000 (~RM4182) and is exclusive to the carrier, Docomo.

At this point, it is simply a race to see which OEM would be the first to unveil their under-display selfie camera. OPPO has been rumoured to release an under-display camera smartphone this year so I guess we’ll have to see who perfects the technology first. So are you excited for a true infinity display?
