After our frozen test with the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, we were all impressed by the new fully IP68 capless water and dust resistance of the smartphone. Today on 8 April 2016, Samsung Malaysia Electronics together with Traders Hotel came up with an idea to challenge KL's socialities and trendsetters from the local fashion, fitness and travel spheres to experience taking a selfie underwater with their new flagship, the Galaxy S7 Edge which is currently available in Malaysia for RM3099.

“I usually take fashion shots on the streets; but never have I taken underwater shots, what more an underwater selfie for fear of spoiling my phone. But now with the new Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, anything is possible and we will certainly see pictures set in different kinds of environments!” Nadrah Zamani, Fashion icon.

“Expect more pool selfies; better yet, underwater selfies with the new Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. Instagram feeds will be populated more with shots like these!” Izhar Husin, Rising TV talent and gym enthusiast

The KL's socialites and trendsetters spent most of their time in the water to snap a so-called "one-of-a-kind creative quality selfies underwater". Here are some of the results.

To be honest, the quality of the picture without a doubt is great, very detailed and sharp. But in terms of creativity, they definitely need to try harder. With the capability to take an easy underwater selfie, they shouldn't have any problem to come up with a more "creative" idea. But at the end of the day, a camera is just a tool, what matters is the person behind the camera, so with the new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, we are definitely looking forwards to seeing some professional photographer or Instagrammer with a few more photography skills taking advantage of it.
