Samsung allegedly successful in adding S-Pen support for foldable phones

A stylus would be useful for a screen this big

In the last few months, there have been sporadic rumours about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. Many believe that this year's model will come with S-Pen support, while the Galaxy Note series would be discontinued as a result. In fact, industry sources claim that a foldable with S-Pen will launch within 2021.

According to ETNews (via Wccftech), Samsung has managed to include stylus function for foldable devices. This suggests that the company has overcome the technical challenge of implementing a digitiser into a foldable panel. If that's true, we could indeed see a foldable phone with S-Pen support in 2021, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Many also think that this may spell the end of the Galaxy Note series, as its selling point has always been the larger display and S-Pen support. Since the Galaxy S21 Ultra has S-Pen support, the supposed Galaxy Note 21 smartphones may not be very appealing alternatives, especially if they end up being more expensive.

Samsung hasn't officially confirmed any of the above, so do take the news with a grain of salt. With that said, would you be more interested in the Galaxy Z Fold 3 if it has S-Pen support? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
