
Qualcomm is a little late with the announcements this year but rest be assured that we will be hearing about the announcement of the Snapdragon 8150 on the 4th of December during its summit in Hawaii. The chipset might be utilizing a 1+3+4 tricluster arrangement.
Known leaker Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) shared a photo claiming that the Snapdragon 8150 will have 8 cores arranged in a 1+3+4 tricluster. The image shows the Snapdragon may have 1 Kyro Gold Prime core with a 512KB L2 cache clocked at 2.842GHz, 3 Kryo Gold cores with a 256KB L2 cache for each core with a frequency of up to 2.419GHz and 4 low-power Kryo Silver cores with 128KB L2 cache per core clocked at 1.786GHz.

This year, we are seeing companies utilize the three tier arrangement for their SoCs. Pioneers of this trend would be Huawei’s Kirin 980 and Samsung’s Exynos 9820. So far, we’ve seen early results of what the Snapdragon 8150 SoC can do on AnTuTu and Geekbench. However, these numbers are just rumours so do take it with a grain of salt.
