For most, bigger phones are better for viewing content. But some people appreciate being able to use their device with one hand. The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone SE 2020 are examples that the demand is there. So it would be quite exciting if rumours of a new Sony Xperia Compact is true.
Thanks to OnLeaks (via Voice.com), we now have renders that show what the phone looks like. As you can see, the Xperia Compact comes with a dual-camera setup at the back and a front camera covered a notch. It also has the signature camera shutter button, as well as what seems to be a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that is integrated with the power button.

In terms of specs, the main camera is supposed to be a 13MP sensor, while the selfie camera is an 8MP sensor. A rumour back in November 2020 also claimed that the phone would be powered by a Snapdragon 775, which is a mid-range 5G chipset expected to launch in Q1 2021. Overall, it would seem that this could be a phone with lower mid-range specs.
Some may question whether there's any significant demand for small phones like these, especially after Apple decided to cut production volume for the iPhone 12 mini. In my opinion, there's a place for smaller phones, but what do you think? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave for more updates on the Xperia Compact.
