The previous record of lightest and thinnest 10-inch tablet was held by Sony's own Xperia Tablet Z, but with the recent announcement of the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet this record has now been broken once more by Sony itself. Measuring an incredible 6.4mm thin and weighing in at 426g (WiFi version) / 439g (LTE version) the new tablet is still a super slim slate with IP58 water resistance certification. However, on top of being able to take a splashing, it now has dual stereo speakers, updated tech specs and a new LED Triluminous Full HD display. It can also hook up to a DUALSHOCK3 wireless gamepad for some gaming or the BRH10 Bluetooth remote with Handset Function so you can make calls (only with the LTE version). The keyboard accessory turns it into a work machine. Check out the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet tech specs below:

  • 2.3GHZ quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor

  • 16GB storage + microSD
  • 10.1-inch Triluminos display (Live Colour LED, 1200 x 1920 pixel resolution, shatter proof and scratch resistant glass)

Available in black and white (no purple yet) the tablet will be running the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat but still doesn't have any Malaysia pricing or specific Malaysia release dates yet. However, we do expect that the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet should be coming in or after March 2014.
