Sugarbook? Isn't that the online dating platform that had their billboard ads taken down by DBKL last year? Yes, that's the same company and they are back once again! Apparently, the company have been doing quite well despite the negative perception received from the public. In fact, during this Movement Control Order period, the company is experiencing a ton of online activities spiking up the traffic. And yes, Malaysians are the top customer.

According to their database, Malaysia takes the top spot with a 40% leap, followed by Singapore (28%), the US (8%), Russia (5%) and the United Kingdom (4%). So what are the online activities that caused such a surge? Well, as an online platform where it lets you be in a relationship in exchange for financial support, it seems that there has been a lot of new users signing up and messages exchanged have increased exponentially since the MCO started in mid-March.

With the increase of newcomers onto the platform, Sugarbook have decided to offer Free Premium Membership Upgrades (worth $79.95, around ~RM347) to Italy, China, and Hong Kong. Like Pornhub, you can see this as a "gesture of goodwill" since the majority are stuck at home.

Although there is no free upgrade for Malaysia, you can sign up for free anyway but just minus the Premium Membership features. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
