TeamXecutor has succeeded at hacking the Nintendo Switch using a modchip

In 2019, Nintendo released two new Switch models with improvements that prevented hackers from using homebrew software but all that work has been undone again. TeamXecutor was able to hack the Nvidia Tegra X214 chipset used in the revised Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite with the help of a modchip.

According to Tweaktown, this custom modchip from TeamXecutor makes it possible to run an altered software system called SX OS. But be warned that its use willl come with a few obvious drawbacks. First, this is not some custom OS you can just install. Instead, you have to solder the modchip onto your Switch's motherboard, which means one wrong move and your console could be damaged. Needless to say, this method also voids your warranty and isn't even free.

We're sure Nintendo is already hard at work to close this exploit but this still proves that the company's products are not any less vulnerable than before.
