Next year, Malaysians will be able to get their hands on their Tesla Model Y electric vehicles (EVs). But according to the Malaysian Electric Vehicle Owners Club on Facebook, the Tesla Superchargers are now ready and officially launched just yesterday.

In the Facebook post, the original poster took a screenshot and showed the Supercharger charges RM1.25/kWh. Comparing this with other EV charging stations, the fees are quite competitive as echoed by the members in the group. However, if you leave your EV there for too long, the idle fee would charge you RM4 per minute.

It is also noted that the Tesla Supercharger is only available for Tesla EVs at the moment, so tough luck if you have using a different brand. That said, this is only temporary as according to sources, it will be open to other EV brands after 30% of Tesla's Supercharger stations in China have been completed and fully functional.

Previously, Tesla. coim has listed 10 Supercharger locations across Malaysia but sources say it has been increased to 12. Other potential locations include Penang, Perak, Johor Bahru and a few in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. To read more about the Tesla Model Y, you can read our news coverage here
