As you may have heard, Sony Interactive Entertainment will raise the PlayStation Plus subscription fee again. Our last report was last week, as various South American countries are going to be affected. This week, we got an email confirming that Malaysia will have it too on or after 24 June 2025.
In the Malaysian market, all three PlayStation Plus Plans: Essential, Extra and Deluxe will have an increased fee in the monthly subscription. Not only that, even the quarterly and yearly monthly subscriptions are included as well. Besides Malaysia, the Reddit threads also confirmed that Australia, Canada and Turkiye are unfortunately getting the price hike.
We made a comparison table chart two years ago, so here is the latest update of all the changes before and after the date, as mentioned earlier below:
PlayStation Plus Plan | 1-Month (before) | 1-Month (after) | 3-Month (before) | 3-Month (after) | 12-Month (before) | 12-Month (after) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Essential | RM32 | RM35 | RM75 | RM95 | RM235 | RM285 |
Extra | RM49 | RM55 | RM125 | RM155 | RM400 | RM490 |
Deluxe | RM55 | RM65 | RM145 | RM185 | RM460 | RM575 |
According to Sony, the price adjustment will enable the company to "continue bringing high-quality games and benefits to your PlayStation Plus subscription service". In addition, any membership changes you make before your next payment, such as upgrades, downgrades or buying additional time, will update your plan based on the new prices.
Of course, you can always cancel your subscription at any time. So remember to mark the 23rd of June date on your calendar to do so if you don't plan to subscribe anymore. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
