Sometimes you hear the most bizarre of news from the UK, like people claiming that 5G towers spread viruses or 11-year-olds being caught driving. But it doesn't look like people from the UK are going to stop being weird, as there's a report of a 12-year-old suing TikTok.

According to Bloomberg (via Gizmochina), a 12-year-old girl from London wants to sue TikTok for violation of data protection rules. She claims that the app infringes on the privacy rights of her and other people like her, which we're assuming refers to other children. The UK court has granted anonymity to the girl to protect her from potential bullying from other children who use the app.

Funny enough, it was noted that TikTok's terms and conditions specify that only those who are 13 and above can use the app. There's supposed to be a version of the app for children, where they are not allowed to post their own videos, but it's unknown if this is the version of the app that's being sued.

It's not unusual that apps use our data, but we feel the more important issue is how they're using it and which third-parties are they leaking it to. What do you think about the topic? Share your thoughts in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave for more trending tech news.
