WhatsApp to rework privacy features for iOS and Android

We're getting more and more features for WhatsApp in recent weeks. It's reported that the company is looking to add message reactions, and recently the feature to transfer your chat history from iOS to Android was added. WhatsApp is also reworking some old features.

Specifically, the platform wants to rework some of its privacy settings. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will be getting a new "My contacts except..." option to the "Last Seen" feature. It blocks specified people in your contacts list from seeing whether you have seen their messages. In case you're unsure, it's basically the blue tick you see when messages have been read.

The default setting for this is "Everyone". But a few years back, WhatsApp added the option to allow certain people in your contact list or block everyone from seeing the blue tick. Some people find this useful for various reasons. For example, you may want to think first before replying to a message, especially if it's a delicate issue. Won't want an angry girlfriend or wife to think you're deliberately ignoring them, right?

Anyway, this is just one of many features that WhatsApp has been working on. But what else does the platform really need? Share your thoughts in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
