Wi-Fi Alliance certificate hints at possible Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Lite

Just yesterday, rumours of a new Samsung foldable smartphone started surfacing. But it looks like this device could be real. The same device was spotted through an official certification on the Wi-Fi Alliance website, indicating that Samsung is already working on the device.

The Wi-Fi Alliance certificate confirms that a Samsung device bearing the model number SM-F415 exists. In this case, there seem to be two variants of the model - SM-F415F and SM-F415DS. According to GSMArena, this model the second digit with '1' means that this is a second-generation device. If that's the case, this SM-F415 model could very well be 'lite' version of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 (model number SM-F916), rather than the Z Flip 5G.

With that in mind, we can make some speculations about the tech specs. Samsung could choose to make it a smaller device with a cheaper display and chipset to bring down the cost. For example, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 unfolds into a large 7.6-inch screen, but the lite version could be under 7-inch instead.

Of course, we can't confirm what specs and features Samsung will choose to go with to make this supposed affordable foldable. Having said that, do you prefer a lite version of the Z Fold 2 or one for the Z Flip? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for updates.
