Late last month, Microsoft held a public beta for a new update that officially brings Android app support to Windows 11. The feature was first announced last year, and it looks like Microsoft is finally ready to roll out the feature.
Windows Chief Product Officer Panos Panay has announced Android apps are not officially supported in Windows 11. You can now have access to Android apps on the Microsoft Store, courtesy of the Amazon Appstore. Currently, there are about 1000 apps available like Kindle and Audible. Moreover, Google Play Games is also working on a Windows 11 version.
The Microsoft update also comes with other changes and features. According to the announcement, there are new enhancements to the taskbar, including the addition of a mute/unmute button. Microsoft has also redesigned Media Player and Notepad apps, the latter of which now supports dark mode.
