Today, aside from the ROG Zephyrus S (GX531) making its debut in Malaysia as the world's slimmest gaming laptop (yet). ASUS Malaysia also showcased the ROG Strix SCAR II (GL704) which we last saw from Computex 2018 back in June 2018 (you can check out all our hands-on pictures here). If you're a gamer, you would know that gaming laptops cost a bomb so here goes the official price - the price tags are RM7999 and RM7599 respectively.
Of course, ASUS Malaysia are also giving away some nice goodies. In fact, the first 30 end users purchasing the Zephyrus S will bring home a free BP1500G ROG BACKPACK (worth RM 159). The promotion period for this will start today (13 December) and will end on 15 January 2018, where the redemption link can be done right here. Also, purchasing either one of the new ROG gaming laptops will grant any customer a chance to win an ROG Phone (8GB + 128GB model) and the promotion will end on the last day of 2018. But wait, there's more - it's also said that buying any selected ROG products (they didn't specify which one) will also be granted a free Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 game.

To recap what the gaming laptops have, the Zephyrus S is 12% thinner than its predecessor measuring at a mere 14.95~15.75mm thin. Despite that, it's still packed with an Intel Core i7-8750H CPU and up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics. As most modern gaming laptops nowadays, it also has a 144Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time on the 15.6-inch display. Moreover, not only does it looks #swag but the durability is tough since it's using military-grade metal chassis. The Active Aerodynamic System (AAS) cooling system is also inside.
Then for the Strix SCAR II, it's a pretty compact gaming beast despite using a 17.3-inch display. This was achieved by slimming the display bezels, allowing the display fit into the 15.7-inch chassis thus making it as the first laptop in its class to be less than 400mm wide. On top of that, the display can go up to 144Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and complete sRGB coverage, as well as sporting the latest 8th Generation Intel processors Core i7-8750H and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU with 6GB of video RAM. To further complement the gaming experience, ROG RangeBoost technology and HyperCool Pro cooling system are pre-installed to boost the WiFi range and cool down.
