At the end of last year, there was a rumour that Xiaomi would launch a foldable device sometime this year. In fact, a prototype of the device was allegedly spotted last month. Now, a well-known source has revealed more details about the device.
According to Ross Young, Xiaomi's upcoming foldable device could be called the Mi Mix 4 Pro Max. It will use a display supplied by TCL and is expected to fold outwards, similar to the Huawei Mate Xs. In addition to that, there will be a larger 6.38-inch inward folding Xiaomi foldable, with the display panel supplied by Samsung.
We hear the upcoming Xiaomi foldable may be called the Mi Mix 4 Pro Max. China Star is the display supplier, not SDC. SDC will provide an in-folding display later in the year, which will be a little larger.

6.38" is rumored to be the cover display size when folded.
In February, Xiaomi's Thomas Wang claimed that there will be a Mi Mix tablet this year. This could either be a standard tablet or the larger Xiaomi foldable mentioned above, which could unfold to become much bigger. Besides that, a previous rumour suggested that there will be a Mi Mix foldable device with 200W fast-charging too.
If any of the above is true, it means Xiaomi is putting in a lot of features for its upcoming foldable devices. Having said that, let us know what you feel are features that a foldable device should have! Also, stay tuned to TechNave for more updates about Xiaomi's upcoming foldable.
