Apple has released the iOS 15.4.1 and iPadOS 15.4.1 update on all supported devices which fixes some bugs found inside the previous 15.4 version. Among the things that the update addressed is the battery drain issues faced by some users, as we’ve reported previously.

In order to get the update, users of supported Apple devices only need to go to the Settings app, select General and then Software Update. Besides releasing an update for iOS and iPadOS, Apple has also released tvOS 15.4.1, HomePod 15.4.1 and watchOS 8.5.1.

For the iOS 15.4 update, Apple’s release notes said that it is fixing these bugs:

  1. Battery may drain more quickly than expected after updating to iOS 15.4
  2. Braille devices may become unresponsive while navigating text or displaying an alert
  3. Made for iPhone hearing devices may lose connection within some third-party apps

As reported by Macrumours, the iOS and iPadOS update also provides with an important security update. Apple found an AppleAVD issue that could allow an application to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges, which has now been fixed with the 15.4.1 update.

So, if you’re using the 15.4 version of iOS or iPadOS currently, do update ASAP to keep your devices secure. Better be safe than sorry!
