Ever since Xiaomi announced their first phablet, the Xiaomi Mi Max, they have already received over 10 million registrations in China alone from the first flash sale and this proves the popularity and demand of the device. It was also only a matter of time that someone does a teardown treatment, this time once again from IT168 from China, known for tearing down well-known smartphones such as the Huawei P9 and Meizu Pro 6.

As usual per the countdown to their Computex Zenvolution event, ASUS have released a teaser video, this time for their ASUS ZenFone 3. Thanks to previous leaks we know that the ZenFone 3 series will have a metal frame with glass front and back but the video confirms a fingerprint sensor on the back as well, perhaps not for all of the ZenFone 3 models. Other tech specs weren't detailed but so far we know that there will be at least 3 variants (ZenFone 3, Max and Deluxe), they will likely feature Qualcomm or MediaTek processors and be announced on 30 May 2016.

Hey Huawei fans, Huawei has confirmed that the Huawei P9 and P9 Lite will be in Malaysia soon on 28 May 2016! As you may already know, the P9 is the first smartphone born out of a collaboration between Huawei and Leica, that results in a stunning dual 12MP lens camera smartphone. While there's no official retail price yet, all will be revealed on 20 May this Friday. The smartphone will come in three colour variations - Prestige Gold, Titanium Grey and Mystic Silver.

Today, Flash Global (formerly known as Alcatel, they're now an independent brand) has presented online their latest smartphone - the full metal Flash Plus 2 as the successor the Alcatel Flash Plus. The device will have two variants based on their memory and it will make a debut in Malaysia on 24 May 2016 with a price tag of $160 (around RM642) for the 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM version, while the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM will cost $190 (around RM763). Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd has chosen five Malaysian youths to represent Digi to attend the first-ever Asian edition of Telenor’s global youth thought leadership forum to be held in Bangkok. The Telenor Youth Forum Asia will focus on finding solutions to solve some of the most pressing youth issues in Asia ranging from youth unemployment to dialogue and access surrounding less talked about topics, such as mental health.

Sony recently announced their Sony Xperia XA Ultra, apparently the successor to the Xperia C5 Ultra but with similar Xperia XA design. This includes a rounded metal frame and edge-to-edge display, but with a larger 6-inch screen with full HD 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. Strangely enough, it packs in a 16MP front camera with LED flash and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) but does offer OIS for the 21.5MP rear camera. No Malaysia release dates yet but it should start deployment sometime in July.
