According to the research firm TrendForce, their findings shows that Samsung has shipped twice as many smartphones than its nearest rival, Apple. The numbers shows that the Korean company has dominated the market, grabbing over a quarter of the marketshare worldwide.

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) returns with not one, but two new gaming displays – the Swift PG279Q and Swift PG27AQ with 27-inch IPS panels for wide 178-degree viewing angles with 2K/WQHD (2560 x 1440 resolution) and 4K/UHD (3840 x 2160 resolution) respectively. Both monitors are available for pre-order in their Facebook channel now (ending on 28 April 2016), with the PG279Q priced at RM4049; and RM4219 for the PG27AQ.

Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei's Consumer Business Group was recently quoted that the next Huawei phone will have a 2K or QHD display with at least 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. Previously, he held onto an adamant stance that no Huawei device would have a display larger than FHD or 1920 x 1080 or a camera sensor bigger than 13MP because there was no difference in quality and that it would use battery life inefficiently.

There is only about two weeks left before the official release of Honor V8, which is rumoured to happen on 10 May 2016. Just like the Huawei P9, the V8 may also feature a two-lens camera, but without the co-engineered with LEICA part. Nevertheless, according to some new reports online, the Honor V8 will be using a device codename "Knight", and it is expected to house a 5.5-inch FHD display, a Kirin 950 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 8MP front camera, a USB Type-C port and 3000mAh battery. Furthermore, the Honor V8 is assumed to be priced around 2000 Yuan which is about RM1202.

Samsung may be releasing their next generation Galaxy Note series the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 sometime in August 2016 (as they did so for the previous versions as well). Reports suggest that Samsung created two prototypes of the Galaxy Note 6 during the testing phase and will select only one of them for the official release. One of the prototypes features a double-curved screen, while the other prototype houses a flat display. Tech specs for both of the devices are identical though.

Previously we had shown you a rendered image of Xiaomi Max (apparently it should be called the Mi Max), which seems to be bigger than the Mi 5. Xiaomi has since released a teaser image of the Mi Max in a jeans pocket, despite the 6.4-inch display it has. The front part is also missing the usual Mi logo and it does not seem to have thin bezels, which could mean that the Mi Max might not be a high-end device but more of a mid-range device.
