Samsung is all set to unveil its next flagship device, the Galaxy S6 this year. The company has already started sending out invites for its Unpacked event to be held on 1st March 2015 where it is said that the company will launch the Galaxy S6. The invite doesn't reveal anything particular about the specs of the upcoming device, except for a curvy line which could be hinting about the rumored Galaxy S6 Edge version. Other than that, there is very little information about the upcoming flagship. However, unofficially, a new report has come up online which claims that the pricing for both the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge has been revealed. The report says that the upcoming Samsung flagship will come in three different storage variants – 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. The base storage version will start at €749 (RM3096) followed by an additional €100 (RM413) for each larger variant. As for the Galaxy S6 Edge, the device will start at €849 (RM3509) for the 32GB model going up to €1049 (RM4336) for the 128GB model. These prices have not yet been confirmed, but they are somewhat close to the launch prices of the previous flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. Stay tuned for more details.

Qualcomm has just issued a press release detailing some of the key features of its top end processor, theSnapdragon 810. The chip maker also revealed some of the companies which will incorporate this SoC inside their upcoming devices. There are officially two flagship phones which currently use Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, LG's high-end LG G Flex 2 and the recently announced Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. The chip maker also revealed the names of the smartphone manufacturers who will use this processor which includes Sony, OPPO and Motorola, thereby confirming at least one aspect of their upcoming flagship devices. However, these three weren't the only names brought up by Qualcomm as the press release also revealed that one of Microsoft's smartphones will also use this processor. Given the high-end placement of the chip, it is likely that the phone will be the next Lumia flagship. This is quite surprising as Lumia devices are generally not known to come with the latest Snapdragon chipsets. It is still not known what Microsoft device will feature this chip, but it would most likely come with the new Windows 10 operating system. Expect more details at MWC 2015 to be held in Barcelona next month.

Tune Talk has just announced that it will be offering 4G LTE services sometime this week. The carrier already offers a number of affordable Internet plans. In fact, just last week, the carrier announced that it would revamp its existing internet plans to make it more affordable and enticing. This is quite the opposite of what mainstream carriers are doing, i.e. increasing the internet rates. The carrier currently uses Celcom's 2G and 3G network bands to operate in the country. But from next week, it will offer 4G LTE internet too. Since this is an upgraded network frequency, users will have to swap their existing 3G SIM cards for a new 4G compatible one. The telco has not yet announced whether it would charge customers for the swap, but for now, you can win a free 4G enabled SIM card if you retweet their status. Tune Talk has not revealed the new pricing for the 4G data plans but it's existing ones are quite affordable. You get 5GB data for RM68 and 3GB data for RM52.

It's been a while since Google announced its brand new Nexus 6 phablet. Now, a recent entry from SIRIM database indicates that the most powerful Nexus is coming to Malaysia soon. The latest model upgrades every single feature found on its predecessor, the Nexus 5. In fact, the phone boosts the display size directly from 5-inches to 6-inches! Other tech specs of the phone are also high-end. The Nexus 6 comes with the latest 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with 3GB RAM. For storage, there are two versions, 32GB and 64GB. The memory isn't expandable since it lacks a MicroSD expansion slot. Up front, the device features a large 5.96-inch Quad HD 2K pixel AMOLED display. At the back, there is a 13MP camera with OIS and ring flash illumination and at the front; there is a modest 2MP shooter. A large 3220 mAh battery powers the device which the company claims can provide up to 6 hours of run-time with just 15 minutes of charge. Other tech specs include stereo speakers and 4G LTE network support (1800MHz and 2600MHz bands). The device will most likely be sold by Brightstar in the country. As of now, there are no details on the Nexus 6 Malaysia release dates or pricing, but stay tuned for more updates.

Last Thursday, OnePlus posted a teaser on its official page showing off the periodic table and asking its fans to guess what the company had in store for them on 30 January 2015. Some said that the teaser was for a metal swappable back cover, but the company revealed yesterday that it would release a new operating system based on the Android platform called OxygenOS. This move by the company isn't surprising given that a few weeks back, OnePlus's official international ROM partner, Cyanogenmod signed an exclusive deal with an Indian manufacturer called Micromax. This meant that OnePlus can no longer use Cyanogenmod on its phones sold in India. So, it was only a matter of time before it released its own OS. The company in it's official blog post said that it aims to provide a bold, straightforward experience to it's users with the new OxygenOS. It further promises that the OS will be open source, customizable and free of unnecessary bloatware. Finally, the new ROM will be close to stock Android and will come as an optional installation for OnePlus One. OnePlus has promised more details about the OS on 12 February when the company will officially unveil it.
