Huawei seems to be working hard this year, as just yesterday they have unveiled the latest Huawei Mate 8 model in Malaysia, along with the MediaPad M2 10.0, two new Huawei Watch Elegant and Jewel variants for the ladies, and a Nexus 6P Gold Edition giving us a 'New Style' and a 'New Choice' in the current market. And they're not slowing down just yet, because Huawei still has the P9 model up their sleeves and it seems they have a release date saved on 6 April in London.

Huawei Malaysia have just announced that they have brought in both variants of the Huawei Mate 8 with the 3GB RAM Huawei Mate 8 and 4GB RAM Huawei Mate 8 Premium for value busting prices of RM2099 and RM2399 respectively. They also announced the Huawei Nexus 6P Gold Edition, Huawei MediaPad M2 10.0 and Huawei Watch Jewel and Elegant for Malaysia. The Mate 8 smartphones will be available from 11 March 2016 at VMALL.my and Lazada, but sales will start today on 8 March 2016. Telco partners for the Mate 8 include Celcom, Digi, Maxis and RedOne for now.

Samsung Mobile Malaysia extended their Samsung Galaxy S7 edge pre-order recently at 15% discount for RM2634 and a free 64GB microSD but with 2000 units. This time around the site was a lot more stable, and according to their Facebook page, many managed to get through and successfully do the pre-order. We found the site to be a lot more stable, so kudos to the Samsung Mobile Malaysia team for that.

Today, Sony Electronics has unveiled a new compact zoom camera lineup, the Cyber-Shot DSC-HX80 model and it will be available in the USA first for $350 (around RM1435) in this coming April next month.The new DSC-HX80 camera features a wide variety of advanced imaging capabilities that includes a 18.2MP2 Exmor R CMOS Sensor, a 30x optical zoom, a retractable OLED Tru-Finder, 921k dot LCD screen that can tilt a full 180 degrees for selfies and also WiFi/NFC compatible. In a recent MWC 2016 briefing, Aicha Evans, the Corporate Vice President of Platform Engineering Group and General Manager of the Intel Communication and Devices Group revealed Intel's plans regarding 5G devices, networks and technologies with the major highlight being that we should see such devices and networks in the next 6 to 12 months. According to her, Intel are working on clients, networks and the cloud to support these new 5G technologies particularly due to the Internet of Things or IoT. These always connected IoT devices may include wearables, vehicles, video security, smart buildings and energy management. Sumner Lemon, Country Manager, Malaysia and Singapore subsequently followed up with info relating to this regarding Malaysia's involvement in Intel's 5G plans.
