AMD in a press statement today announced its launch of the Server Platform Solutions Engineering (SPSE) facility in Malaysia. South Korean tech giants Samsung has joined the right-to-repair movement and will allow customers to repair their own mobile devices soon. Announced in a statement yesterday, Samsung is set to launch a new programme that will permit flagship Galaxy devices to be repaired by third-parties rather than just through the company’s in-house repair services.

With the programme, Samsung gives third-party repair companies access to genuine parts, repair tools and visual step-by-step guides for self-repair. In fact, the tech giant is also collaborating with iFixit - one of the world’s leading online repair community - on the programme.

The Finance Ministry (MOF) in a statement yesterday announced that around 2 million Malaysian youths will receive an RM150 e-wallet credit starting this mid-April. Part of the government’s ePemula scheme, those that are eligible include youths aged 18 to 20 as well as full-time students in higher learning institutions.

Furthermore, those eligible would get to enjoy the benefit through one of four e-wallet providers, which are BigPay, GrabPay, ShopeePay and Touch ’n Go. MOF said that the four e-wallet service providers have a network of 1.2 million retailers in Malaysia.

Apple has released the iOS 15.4.1 and iPadOS 15.4.1 update on all supported devices which fixes some bugs found inside the previous 15.4 version. Among the things that the update addressed is the battery drain issues faced by some users, as we’ve reported previously.

In order to get the update, users of supported Apple devices only need to go to the Settings app, select General and then Software Update. Besides releasing an update for iOS and iPadOS, Apple has also released tvOS 15.4.1, HomePod 15.4.1 and watchOS 8.5.1.
