Today, Samsung Malaysia has unveiled the new Galaxy A30s and Galaxy A50s for budget-friendly consumers. Available in Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush White and Prism Crush Green, the phones will be on sale from 21 September 2019 at every Samsung Experience Store and its online store from a starting price of RM899.

Just recently in India, Samsung has released two new A-series smartphones over there. Known as the Galaxy A30s and Galaxy A50s, these two are the new successors to the previous Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50 respectively that were introduced in Malaysia earlier this year.

Despite the mid-range tag on the Samsung Galaxy A50, it managed to beat out a few of the older flagships out on the market in terms of camera. The device’s triple camera setup managed to score a decent 83 points on DxOMark.

Smartphones can be divided into three basic categories – entry-level, mid-range and flagship. The differences between Samsung’s entry-level and mid-range phones are very subtle, like the Samsung Galaxy J series (J1 to J8) offers entry-level and mid-range models. On the other hand, the Samsung A series features IP68 water-resistance and dual selfie cameras, but spec-wise they are still very similar to the Galaxy J5 and above.
In 2019, Samsung decided to reposition its phone product categories. Their Galaxy J series has been discontinued and replaced by the Galaxy M series, whereas the Samsung Galaxy A series has been repositioned with different specs and features. Following the launch of the Galaxy M20 which happened this morning, Samsung has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy A30 as well as the Galaxy A50 starting from RM799 and RM1199 respectively. While the Galaxy A50 utilizes an Exynos 9610 chipset with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage, the Galaxy A30 offers an Exynos 7904 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64 GB of storage.

Man, Samsung has been busy these past few weeks. After their highly successful launch of the Samsung Galaxy S10 series, now they’re planning on launching two of the Samsung Galaxy A smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy A30 and Samsung Galaxy A50.
