Ericsson and Intel are set to collaborate on the development of 5G use cases that can accelerate digitisation in Malaysia. In a Memorandum of Undertaking (MoU) signed recently, both companies are seeking to spur 5G’s adoption by local enterprises.

The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) has revealed that the current price of 5G network services offered to consumers in Malaysia is RM1.68 per GB. Today, CelcomDigi announced that all Celcom and Digi customers can now apply and enjoy 5G roaming overseas. Supported in a total of 38 countries, also includes Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, China and others as long as the customers subscribe to both Celcom and Digi Roaming Passes. 

According to Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), Malaysia’s targeted 5G network coverage is now ahead of schedule, reaching almost 50% for 2022. The initial target was 40% coverage of populated areas.
