    Qualcomm announces 5nm Snapdragon X60 modem, promises download speeds of up to 7.5Gbps

    Roughly a year since Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon X55 modem, the company has now revealed that its new Snapdragon X60 modem will be launching in early 2021. This is the first 5G modem chip that is built on the 5nm manufacturing process, with incredible download and uploads speeds.

Therefore, we think that OPPO Malaysia is trying to seize the opportunity to promote 5G as well by getting their first 5G device to be certified by SIRIM.

    Celcom and Maxis complete joint 5G network trial, achieving speeds over 1.1Gbps

    The telco companies in Malaysia have been hard at work testing 5G technology, which is expected to take 2020 by storm. In fact, the latest news is of Celcom's and Maxis' success in a trial of the 5G Multi Operator Core Network (MOCN), a first for Southeast Asia. During the trial, results showed peak speeds of more than 1.1Gbps.

    With 5G technology heading our way this year, Maxis has just announced that they have made a new record of achieving 2.96Gbps for single-user peak speeds. This was recorded at two of their trial sites in Subang Jaya recently, where they have been testing 200MHz of the 3.5GHz C-band spectrum.
