The ASUS ROG Phone 3 is yet to arrive in Malaysia but while we wait, it seems that the folks from XDA-Developers just discovered that there is a hidden 160Hz refresh rate mode inside. For your information, the gaming phone is supposed to support up to 144Hz refresh rate only and there's a way to activate the 160Hz refresh rate mode.

The ASUS ROG Phone 3 features a Snapdragon 865+ chipset, with up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 512GB Internal Storage. There’s also a 6.59-inch AMOLED display that supports 144Hz refresh rate, 270Hz touch-sampling rate, and HDR10+. With this, the ROG Phone 3 display currently has the lowest latency in the market.

The ROG Phone 3 is going to be launched on 22 July, and it's on the same day as Lenovo's first Legion gaming smartphone. ASUS recently confirmed that the ROG Phone 3 would be launching on 22 July 2020 and news has trickled in over the weeks. More details are confirmed recently and about the only thing left we don't know would be the retail price. Sources have also found the phone certified on the Taiwan NCC.

Based on a video posted by Tech Elucidations on their Facebook page, it seems that the ASUS ROG Phone 3 will most definitely be the first smartphone to come equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset. But that’s not all, other rumours have also stated that the device will also have up to 16GB RAM, 144Hz refresh rate display, as well as up to 512GB of internal storage.

Based on a statement by Ice Universe on the user’s weibo account, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset will most likely be unveiled somewhere around July 2020 provided there are not hiccups. With that said, we can expect many smartphone manufacturers to unveil a few flagship smartphones that come equipped with the aforementioned chipset.
