  • Rumours: ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 benchmarked?

Rumours: ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 benchmarked?

Just a day ahead of a sneak preview for the ASUS ZenPad tablets and we've just received screencaps of some benchmarks from an anonymous tipster. The benchmarks include AnTuTu and 3DMark, both benchmarks that we often use here at TechNave.com. The AnTuTu benchmark for the ZenPad C 7.0 is scored at 22396 which is much higher than the entry-level ASUS Fonepad 7 tablet it may replace. A quick look at the previous ASUS Fonepad 7 review reveals an AnTuTu score of just 19030 and that was without any PowerSaver function turned on. The new ZenPad C 7.0 is powered by Intel's latest Intel Atom x3 or SoFIA processor and offers built-in 3G connectivity along with features like DTS-HD audio technology. We'll be able to tell you more tomorrow after the sneak preview but so far, these benchmarks are indications that users will get a good performing device with the ASUS ZenPad C and other ZenPad tablets. No Malaysia release dates or official pricing details yet, but the ZenPad C is expected to cost around RM499. Stay tuned for more updates tomorrow.

Check out the ASUS ZenPad tablets for Malaysia on 14 August 2015

The new ASUS ZenPad tablets set to replace their Fonepads are coming to Malaysia soon. Set for an August release, we've just received our invite for an upcoming sneak peak of the devices. So far, we're expecting the ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 and ASUS ZenPad 7.0 to make an appearance, but the ASUS ZenPad 8 could make a surprise entrance as well. The first two are powered by the new Intel Atom x3 processor formerly known as SoFIA and will feature integrated 3G connectivity. Previous leaks that we've received show a stylish yet very slim and thin profile for all those large phone enthusiasts out there with other features including DTS-HD audio technology and more. No actual Malaysia release dates yet, but pricing details have been revealed to start from RM499. Stay tuned and we'll keep you updated as to new developments soon.

  • Rumours: ASUS ZenPad C features and bumper case leaked

Rumours: ASUS ZenPad C features and bumper case leaked

Another year and another ASUS Fonepad 7, but wait, recent announcements have revealed that everything will be replaced by an ASUS ZenPad tablet with the ASUS ZenPad 8.0ZenPad 7.0 andZenPad C. While the Malaysia release date is expected sometime in August or afterwards an anonymous tipster recently sent us pics of the ASUS ZenPad C along with the bumper casing. The pics reveal a slim and premium shape different from previous Fonepad and MeMo Pad tablets. The pics also reveal some features, such as DTS-HD audio technology, something which we'd hardly expect from an entry-level device like the ZenPad C. The tablet is also expected to have tech specs that include the latest 64-bit Intel Atom x3 or SoFIA processor adding that much more value to those who like making calls with tablets. Stay tuned for more developments and many thanks to the anonymous tipster.

  • ASUS ZenPad 8 appears in US for $199.99 (RM759), coming to Malaysia soon?

ASUS ZenPad 8 appears in US for $199.99 (RM759), coming to Malaysia soon?

It appears that the ASUS ZenPad 8 is already available in the US for $199.99 (RM759). Tech specs are quite high for this price range with a 64-bit 1.83GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, 8-inch display with 2048 x 1536 resolution, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and Android 5.1 Lollipop. The tablet is WiFi only though and while it isn't the latest Intel Atom x3 or SoFIA powered device, it does offer good value for the money. There are no specific Malaysia release dates yet and it will probably come to Malaysia eventually, but we expect this to happen only after the ASUS ZenPad 7 tablets get their marching orders sometime in July or August 2015.

Announced at the recent Computex 2015, the ASUS ZenPad tablets made a pretty big impact with their combination of good looks and new tech specs. Recently spotted on the SIRIM database, the ASUS ZenPad 7 and ZenPad C tablets are expected to come to Malaysia sometime in July 2015. Both feature the new Intel x3 processor and while there are still no pricing details, early estimates have both tablets at the entry-level range. While you wait for these tablets to arrive, ASUS have come out with the highlight videos for the ASUS ZenPad 8, ZenPad 7 and ZenPad C which you can check out for yourself in this article.

  • ASUS ZenPad tablets and LG G4 spotted in SIRIM database, coming to Malaysia soon

ASUS ZenPad tablets and LG G4 spotted in SIRIM database, coming to Malaysia soon

The SIRIM Database is often used like China's TENAA and also usually gives a clear indication that a device may be coming to Malaysia soon. The ASUS ZenPad 7.0 or Z370CG, ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 or Z170CG and LG G4. The ZenPad tablets will have tech specs that include the new 64-bit Intel Atom x3 processors, 1GB/2GB RAM, 16GB/32GB storage and 3G connectivity. Both will feature 7-inch displays but the higher-end Z370CG will offer 1280 x 800 pixel resolutions compared to the 1024 x 600 pixels on the Z170CG. The listing for the ZenPad tablets appears to be to all the usual local distributors, suggesting that we could see the ASUS ZenPad tablets sometime soon, with early estimates set at July 2015. The LG G4 on the other hand looks to be going to one of the major smartphone distributors in Malaysia, which suggests that it may be making an official comeback to Malaysia. The LG G4 is currently the leather-clad flagship smartphone from LG with a curved 5.5-inch 2K display covered by Gorilla Glass 4, 16MP rear camera with laser autofocus and OIS and much more. Neither ASUS nor LG Malaysia have made any comment or teaser on these new arrivals, but we expect both to arrive in Malaysia soon.

  • Intel Intelligent Generations interview reveals affordable Intel Atom X3 tablets coming soon?

Intel Intelligent Generations interview reveals affordable Intel Atom X3 tablets coming soon?

TechNave.com recently had the opportunity to interview Intel Rockstars at the recent Intel Intelligent Generations showcase in Penang. These Rockstars included the design team from Intel Malaysia responsible for the Intel Compute Stick and 5th Generation Intel Core processors along with the Intel Singapore team in charge of the Intel Atom X3. According to these Intel Rockstars, the Intel Compute Stick was initially created on the theme of miniturization, trying to see how small they could make an effective x86 based machine. Powered by an Intel Atom processor, the Compute Stick plugs into any HDMI-ready display or HDTV and turns it into a desktop PC. While there are still no plans for an Intel Core M powered Compute Stick or one with a discrete graphic card (we asked, they said not yet) they are open to suggestions, with coming Compute Stick devices perhaps offering other options instead.

Regarding the Intel Atom X3 processor formerly known as SoFIA, the Intel Singapore team revealed that they have already been provided to manufacturers. This jives with rumours about the upcoming Intel Atom X3 powered ASUS ZenPad. However, they did admit that these processors have been provided earlier to China-brand manufacturers partly because of China's larger tech ecosystem and market and also as a testing ground for other markets. As such, we should see other Intel Atom X3 powered devices within 2015. What does this mean for normal consumers? Well, considering that the Intel Atom X3 packs in built-in 3G/4G LTE connectivity at lower price points it could mean more affordable tablets and smartphones in the near future. So if you're looking to buy an Intel powered tablet we'd recommend waiting for a while first. We shouldn't have to wait too long though as this next wave of Intel Atom X3 powered devices are expected in the next couple of months.

  • Rumours: ASUS ZenPad tablets coming with Intel Atom X3 in July?

Rumours: ASUS ZenPad tablets coming with Intel Atom X3 in July?

A new range of tablets could be coming from ASUS soon as leaks have appeared for the ASUS ZenPad 7 and ZenPad 8. Featuring a cross-thatch pattern and build very familiar to the ASUS FonePad 7, the ZenPad will supposedly come in 7-inch display and 8-inch display versions. Both will have a WiFi and 3G version, while the ZenPad 7 will be priced from 7999 RUB (RM570) to 8999 RUB (RM641). Tech specs for the ZenPad 7 include a 64-bit 1GHz quad-core Intel Atom X3 (or formerly known as SoFIA), 1GB RAM, 8GB / 16GB storage, 7-inch display with 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, 2MP rear camera, VGA front camera, Bluetooth and a 3950 mAh battery. The ZenPad 8 on the other hand will get an Intel Z3560 or Z3530 processor, 2GB of RAM, 8GB / 16GB / 32GB / 64GB storage and an 8-inch display with 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution. Obviously, the ZenPad 8 is the more feature-filled despite it not having an actual Intel Atom X3 processor. No Malaysia released dates or pricing details yet but the ASUS ZenPad tablets are expected to get announced sometime in June during Computex 2015.
