ASUS Malaysia previewed the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 for us today confirming tech specs like a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, 5000 mAh battery, 6-inch Full HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio fullview display, dual 16MP rear cameras (the other is a Bokeh sensor) and ASUS's first stock Android 8.1 smartphone. ZenUI has been removed completely with certain additional apps like Snapdragon Camera. While ASUS's track record for updates has been very committed they say that the ZenFone Max Pro M1 could likely get updates faster due to the stock Android.

As previously rumoured, the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 showed up in India and comes with a super affordable price tag. Coming in Deepsea Blue and Gray for three model variants based on memory, the 3GB + 32GB model is 10,999 Rupee (~RM644), followed by 4GB + 64GB for 12,999 Rupee (~RM761) and last one, 6GB + 64GB for 14,999 Rupee (~RM879).

The rumoured ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 variant just got leaked by @evleaks in both black and silver. While the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor matches with our earlier tech specs leak @evleaks says that this variant just has 4GB RAM instead of 6GB. It also doesn't confirm if it will actually come with a pure Android OS or 5000 mAh battery but then ASUS have been known to come out with different memory versions of their ZenFones before.

The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro is quite a popular device thanks to its economical price and nice features such as the badass 5000mAh battery. But there seems to be another variant called the ZenFone Max Pro M1 and it's said to run on "pure" Android.
