Another year, another new Apple iPad mini tablet. However, this year's Apple iPad mini 3 does not really bring much innovation or change to the table, unlike the previous Apple iPad mini 2 which was basically a smaller Apple iPad Air. Updating our previous comparison article on which Apple iPad mini to buy we are now doing a comparison article between the Apple iPad mini 3, Apple iPad mini 2 and Apple iPad mini. While we've yet to see any news on Malaysia release dates or pricing for the Apple iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3, the Apple Malaysia Store has already revealed the updated pricing for the previous Apple iPad tablets. This includes a price drop for all of the tablets including the iPad Air, iPad mini and iPad mini 2 of about RM150 to RM300 or so for each. The iPad mini now only has 16GB versions, while the iPad mini 2 has 16GB and 32GB versions. The previous iPad 4 has also been removed from listings, leaving the iPad Air with 16GB and 32GB versions. We mentioned this happening earlier but Apple's Red Friday one-day sale has started. As expected the discounts aren't really that high, but they are a good incentive to get a new Apple product. That's right, rather than sell old products for cheap, the Apple Malaysia Store are selling mostly new and current Apple products like the Apple iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina Display. Celcom recently opened plans for the Apple iPad Air starting from RM1248. Quite obviously, the plans are for the Apple iPad Air 4G LTE Cellular version covering the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models. Celcom are currently offering the deal on their Celcom First iPad plans for both 12 month and 24 month contracts. Of note is the fact that the monthly commitment is quite low, from just RM50 up to RM100. For more details check out the table and links in this article.

Completing the major Malaysian Telco Apple iPad Air offers is DiGi who are offering the tablet on a zero contract package from RM1453. Unfortunately, the catch is that it is only for the 16GB Apple iPad Air 4G LTE Cellular version and there is only one plan for it. You also have to pay an upfront payment and advance payment as well. The good news is that the early payment will be rebated back to you over the course of 24 months, but if you decide to terminate or shift plans, you lose this early payment. Maxis has recently revealed the Malaysia pricing for the Apple iPad Air 4G Cellular version beginning from RM2049 for the 16GB version, RM2299 for the 32GB version and RM2649 for the 64GB version. While these are the retail prices, the Apple iPad Air Cellular version is available on Maxis SurfMore data plans from RM1449 on a 24 month contract. The Apple iPad Air is the 5th generation tablet in Apple's leading 9.7-inch display tablet range. As the latest in the bunch it packs in the latest and probably most powerful mobile chipset and processor in the Apple stable along with a much improved, thinner and lighter profile. Maxis has recently opened up teaser images of the Apple iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina Display. Unlike Celcom and DiGi, Maxis isn't opening any registration of interest forms just yet, but rest assured that they will be offering the tablets with Maxis 4G on their SurfMore data plans. This also means that if you're looking to get either an Apple iPad Air or iPad mini with Retina Display from Maxis you can expect to get the 4G LTE Cellular models that also come with the same prices. Unfortunately, Maxis did not reveal any pricing or Malaysia release dates but many are expecting this to come up in early December 2013 so people can get their Christmas shopping done. Fresh after their gold-plated Apple iPhone 5S, Goldgenie are now shifting to larger devices with gold-plated versions of the Apple iPad Air and Apple iPad mini with Retina Display. As usual, Goldgenie are offering the tablets in a choice of 24k gold, rose gold and platinum. Prices start from $2124 (RM6755) and can reach as high as $10000+ (RM31790) as you can further customize the device with crystals, diamonds and other precious bling. You can also expect the tablets to also weigh a fair bit more than the normal tablets. As usual, there was no Malaysia release dates or pricing but they'd probably ship here if you throw enough money at them. As a show of how much more premium the gold-plated iPads will be, Goldgenie are also offering premium black wooden boxes rather than the standard brown.

Now that the latest and greatest Apple iPad Air or 5th generation iPad is here, many older Apple iPad users are considering buying it, especially since it offers a new 64-bit A7 processor, improved slimmer and thinner design and better overall performance.
