They've also timed the X5Max in a movie playback battery life test against the Apple iPhone 6 Plus. Granted, the iPhone 6 Plus is not the most energy efficient phone out there but do check out the video below for yourself.

  • Use your Apple iPhone camera like never before with Pictar iPhone camera-grip

Use your Apple iPhone camera like never before with Pictar iPhone camera-grip

Pictar is an iPhone accessory that will enable you to use your iPhone camera in a way you never thought you could before. It comes with five external buttons for controlling the iPhone camera like how you would usually handle a DLSR. These buttons will help unleash your iPhone camera so you can capture much better pictures all the time.

Pictar multi-state shutter comes with maximum sensitivity, similar to the likes of traditional DLSR where merely pressing the shutter button halfway will force the camera to lock its focus and exposure to track a moving subject. To take a photo, simply pressing the shutter down in full will do the trick.

ExoLens offers Zeiss interchangeable smartphone lens for the Apple iPhone 6s / 6s Plus / 6 / 6 Plus

We've seen quite a few add-on jelly lens that you can either seal on or clip on to a smartphone but ExoLens takes it a step further by offering a wide-angle, telephoto and macro add on lens using Zeiss optics. Quite obviously, the add-on lenses are much larger than your average jelly lens, but the frame is also suitably larger as well and can be mounted on a standard tripod stand. So far, it is just for the Apple iPhone 6s6s Plus6 and 6 Plus but there are plans for a Samsung Galaxy phone version as well. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details but ExoLens should be available in Q2 2016 at $299 (RM1322) for the macro and wide-angle lens or $199 (RM880) for the telephoto lens.

  • Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus now officially available in Malaysia

Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus now officially available in Malaysia

After the various midnight launches last night, the Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are now officially available in Malaysia. Yesterday we did manage to handle both the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus and both feel as slim and premium as the previous iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The major difference here is that only the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have gold and rose gold colour options, the other smartphones, including the iPhone 5s only come in silver and space grey. Pricing remains the same despite the ringgit stabilizing somewhat at RM4.18 against 1 USD. This probably means we'll have to see a drop back to the previous RM3.5 or RM3.3 levels for Apple to reduce the pricing further. Regardless, you can get the latest and most expensive Apple iPhone now from the Apple Store Malaysia or check out our phone comparison tool for a plan which might suit your needs or budget.
