The term cameraphone still means that the main feature a phone or smartphone has is its camera with camera centric functions all focused on providing the best camera experience possible. Featuring a 13MP PixelMaster camera and dual-tone LED flash on both the front and back along with laser autofocus for the rear camera, the ASUS ZenFone Selfie seems to fit the bill not only as a cameraphone but also one focused on the art of taking selfies. The ASUS ZenFone Selfie recently got launched in Malaysia for RM1049. Featuring 13MP cameras on the front and back with dual tone LED flash, the ZenFone Selfie is obviously the cameraphone for those who like to take selfies. We managed to get some time with it and did an unboxing video to see what else comes with the phone but it appears we got an incomplete set as it should come with a pari of premium ASUS ZenEar headphones. ASUS Malaysia are making it official as they just announced that the ASUS ZenFone Selfie is coming to Malaysia on 30 August 2015 (next Sunday) at Mid Valley Megamall, Centre Court, Ground Floor. Featuring the same ASUS ZenFone 2 design, the ZenFone Selfie brings 13MP cameras with dual LED flash and laser autofocus for both the front and back. Other tech specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB storage, a 5.5-inch FHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and a 3000 mAh battery. Already, ASUS Malaysia have launched their ASUS Cosplay Selfie Challenge to win your very own ASUS ZenFone Selfie which is still going on. No news yet on Malaysia pricing details but it is currently going for 15999 INR (RM1014) in India which could mean that it will go for RM999 to RM1099 over here. ASUS Malaysia recently teased that a new ZenFone smartphone could be coming to Computex 2015 with the hint that it is the front of the phone. Incidentally, it shows a front camera and dual LED flash, which when combined with the spaces in the teaser image, could mean that this will be the ASUS ZenFone Selfie. No tech specs or features yet, but we assume that since the standard front camera is 5MP already, this version will either be 8MP or 13MP. The rear camera will likely be the same 13MP PixelMaster camera while the screen looks to be the same 5.5-inch size. Since most selfie takers tend to be the younger crowd we assume that this display will be in 720p HD and perhaps a full HD 1080p resolution for the richer crowd. Other tech specs will likely be the same 2.3GHz Intel Atom processor and 4GB RAM in the current ASUS ZenFone 2 ZE551ML smartphone. No specific Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet, but we expect it to be soon as even the ASUS Malaysia Facebook page is showing the teaser image above.
