Malaysian online platform BJAK Sdn Bhd (BJAK) has become the subject of scrutiny this past week. This is after the Road Transport Department (JPJ) revealed that the company was never authorised by JPJ or the Transport Ministry to offer road tax renewal services, to which BJAK responded by clarifying that the service is only optional and now, free of charge.
Now, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook has also addressed the matter, saying that he is open to the company becoming JPJ’s strategic partner. However, the online platform must go through proper channels in doing so.

Recently, many customers of the online platform BJAK Sdn Bhd (BJAK) complained about additional charges and their road tax renewal not being updated on the Road Transport Department (JPJ) system. Well, JPJ today has addressed the issue via a statement, revealing that BJAK was never authorised by JPJ or the Transport Ministry to provide road tax renewal services.
