Now Blackberry has stepped forward to be the first manufacturer to actively patch against the exploit, making them the first to be safe against QuadRooter.

    BlackBerry's latest BlackBerry PRIV looks like it has arrived in Malaysia, this time on pre-order at11street.my. The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop powered PRIV packs in a physical QWERTY keyboard that slides out along with tech specs that include an octa-core Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable memory up to 2TB).

    The screen is a 5.4-inch display with quad HD pixel resolution and it also has an 18MP rear camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and a dual-LED flash while a 2MP front camera and 3140 mAh battery completes the tech specs list. Personally, we're not sure if the pricing is low enough for BlackBerry to stay profitable but if you're interested, it is available from today to 14 December 2015. Shipping starts on 17 December 2015.

    Carphone Warehouse has already started taking pre-orders from customers for the BlackBerry Priv. The first BlackBerry device functioning with Android OS, the tech specs include:

    Android-based BlackBerry Priv confirmed

    The idea of an Android-based BlackBerry smartphone or device has been circulating for quite some time but it looks like the first such device has been confirmed. Going by the name of BlackBerry Priv, the smartphone features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. While there still isn't any official announcement, it recently got confirmed by John Chen, CEO of BlackBerry with hands-on pics from @evleaks. Tech specs and features are still rumours though, but it is expected to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB RAM, 18MP rear camera with dual LED flash and use a more secure version of Android Lollipop. Still no Malaysia release dates or pricing details but it should be coming in the next few months.
