While some states are currently in CMCO or EMCO, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has just announced in their Facebook that our local telcos are once again giving away 1GB of internet data for free. This initiative will be done every day until 31 December 2020.

As more cases pop up around Malaysia, it seems that one of Celcom's employees has been tested positive for COVID-19. However, this is from its retail outlet, Bluecube in Sandakan, Sabah and he's currently waiting for second test results with mild symptoms.

Just yesterday, we reported that some local telcos including U Mobile, Celcom and Maxis were fined by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for having fake prepaid SIM card registration. In responding to the matter, Celcom has reached out to us with an official statement below.

Today, we saw an interesting tweet from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) about fake prepaid SIM card registration. Apparently, these fake prepaid SIM cards came from U Mobile, Celcom, Tune Talk, Maxis, YTL Communications and Tone Plus without verifying user information.
