Rumours: OnePlus 3 coming with no invites and more for $369 (RM1506)?

The OnePlus 3 recently got listed on OppoMart, revealing tech specs like a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, up to 6GB of RAM, a front fingerprint sensor and more for $369 (RM1506). The image that it comes with shows a very HTC One like metal unibody design with just a single LED flash (recent offerings like the Huawei P9 and ASUS ZenFone 3 have double LED flash and triple autofocus) which makes us question its relevancy in today's phone market. No news on Malaysia release dates but the OnePlus 3 is expected to be revealed on 14 June 2016 without any invites required to buy it.

  • Rumours: HTC One A9 leaks show another Apple iPhone look-a-like

Rumours: HTC One A9 leaks show another Apple iPhone look-a-like

Leaked images of the upcoming HTC One A9 (set for announcement tomorrow) indicate that like the Lenovo Sisley, the One A9 is going to look like the Apple iPhone 6. While the Sisley didn't have a protruding camera and actually changed up the antenna positioning, the One A9 looks to be nearly identical to the iPhone 6. Cher Wang, HTC CEO was even quoted as mentioning that the One A9 will be a good alternative to Apple's iPhones, as it "strikes a balance between beauty, performance and simplicity."

Tech specs and features include a midrange Snapdragon 617 processor, 2GB / 3GB RAM, 16GB /32GB storage, a 5-inch FHD display, 13MP rear camera and Android 6.0. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet but it is going for €599 (RM2883) in Europe. We do recommend taking a pinch of salt with this as it is still a rumour but we'll find out more tomorrow.

  • Honor 4X review - More than 4X the value 5.5-inch display smartphone

Honor 4X review - More than 4X the value 5.5-inch display smartphone

The entry-level to midrange smartphone market in Malaysia is quickly becoming crowded with quite a lot of choices for around RM600. While it isn't too difficult to find a smartphone within this price range with a phablet sized 5.5-inch display finding one that combines the best value with good build quality and attention to detail is still fairly hard. Our previous preview with the Honor 4X revealed that it could well be one of  these phones but in our full review below we make sure if the Honor 4X is really worthy of your money and attention so check it out below.

  • Updated HTC One M8s officially announced with 64-bit processor

Updated HTC One M8s officially announced with 64-bit processor

Continuing their ongoing trend of not fixing something that isn't broken, HTC have officially announced the HTC One M8s which is basically the same HTC One M8 but with an updated 64-bit processor and 13MP dual rear camera. HTC has seen fit to get rid of the UltraPixel rear camera completely with nearly every other tech spec remaining the same. This isn't exactly a bad thing if you're a really, really big fan of the HTC One M8, but it definitely won't look any different than before. The full tech specs and features include a 64-bit 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB Storage + microSD, 5-inch display with full HD 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, a 13MP rear dual camera and a 5MP front camera. The One M8s weighs in at 160g and 146.36 x 70.6 x 9.55mm and comes with a 2840 mAh battery along with Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense. Set for release in the UK at £379.99 (RM2062) there are as yet no plans for a Malaysia release date or any local pricing details. In any case, we're more likely to see the HTC One M8s at the DirectD Gadget Mega Store and other third party sellers like SatuGadget before any official HTC Malaysia release anytime soon.

  • LeTV is another smartphone with no bezels but first to pack in USB Type C port

LeTV is another smartphone with no bezels but first to pack in USB Type C port

The LeTV is another smartphone with no bezels, something we've already seen with the Sharp Aquos Crystal. However, while the Aquos Crystal had no bezels on the top and sides, the LeTV has no bezels on the sides only. The rounded corners and slim top and bottom bezels give the LeTV a very HTC One-like design and tech specs are quite high-end. These include a 2.2GHz octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 5.5-inch full HD display, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, dual-SIM support and a USB Type C port. While it does look pretty, we wouldn't know where to hold it, but we're sure that there will be people who will like it. Since LeTV is made by a China company, it is very unlikely that we'll get any Malaysia release dates or local pricing details anytime soon, however rumours indicate that it could be quite affordable but we won't know for sure unless it comes to Malaysia soon (probably through a third-party seller).

    Huawei MediaPad M1 8.0 hands-on video

Thanks to Huawei Malaysia, we managed to get some time with the Huawei MediaPad M1 8.0 tablet and since made a hands-on video which you can see below. This 8-inch display tablet offers the same flat and thin look as the Huawei Ascend P7 and Huawei MediaPad X1 along with a similar metal unibody chassis. • HTC One Mini 2 officially announced with 13MP camera

HTC One Mini 2 officially announced with 13MP camera

Confirming previous rumours about the mini version of the HTC One (M8), HTC have officially announced the HTC One Mini 2. Featuring the same brushed metal look as the larger version, the mini offers a 4.5-inch display with 720p pixel resolution making it slightly larger than the previous HTC One Mini. The most notable feature difference here though, is that there is no Duo camera, but HTC have opted for a conventional 13MP BSI camera sensor instead of the usual UltraPixel camera. Other tech specs include a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, up to 128GB microSD support, 5MP front camera, GPS, NFC, 4G LTE and a 2100 mAh battery. No news on Malaysia pricing or specific Malaysia release dates yet but the HTC One Mini 2 is expected to be launched in North Asia by June 2014.
