The HUAWEI Mate 40 series had arrived last year with the standard Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, and a Porsche Edition Mate 40 Pro RS. After that, the Mate 40E is said to be in the works as it was spotted on Wireless Charging Alliance. As the whole Mate 40 lineup uses the Kirin 9000 chipset, the upcoming Mate 40E is also expected to come with the same chipset. However, it is reported that other devices like the P50 series, Mate X2, and MatePad Pro 2 will also use the Kirin 9000.

With the announcement of HarmonyOS 2.0 back in last month, many are expecting HUAWEI to bring the in-house operating system (OS) to smartphones. However, it was revealed earlier that the Chinese tech giant will only launch the first smartphone with the HarmonyOS next year. Now, it appears that not only new smartphones can have the OS, but current HUAWEI and HONOR devices will also get to make the switch (well, at least some).

At the IFA 2020, HUAWEI was supposed to announce the world's first commercial 5nm mobile processor at their keynote that happened on 3 September. However, it looks like the plan has changed as the 5nm process (a.k.a Kirin 1000) was nowhere to be found. It is reported that HUAWEI is trying to stay low profile to avoid drawing unnecessary attention.

Despite having a tough year (yea, us too), Huawei is still going to launch their devices according to schedule. The Huawei Mate 40 series is expected to be launched in October with an amazing 5nm process. Other than that, we've also heard rumour saying that the series will feature 120Hz refresh rate screens. However, here comes another source saying that it's not true.

It is said that the next 5nm Kirin processor will be launched on time without any delay.
